The Burning Negroni Sour is an intriguing and innovative variation of the classic Negroni, characterized by a combination of smoky and sour flavors, which make it a complex and elegant cocktail. Its peculiarity lies in the addition of smoky and spicy notes, which can derive from ingredients such as a smoked gin, a particularly aromatic bitter or a splash of mezcal. All this is balanced by the presence of lemon or lime juice, which gives a pleasant acidity, and the velvety consistency of the egg white (or a vegan substitute), which gives a soft and enveloping texture.

Ingredients (for 1 cocktail)

  • 30 ml Fuckingin
  • 30 ml Campari Bitter
  • 30 ml Red Vermouth
  • 20 ml lemon juice
  • 10 ml liquid sugar
  • 1 egg white
  • Ice

Preparation

  • Place Gin, Campari bitter, red vermouth, lemon juice, liquid sugar and egg white in the shaker in sequence
  • Shake vigorously without ice for 10/15 seconds
  • Add ice and shake vigorously for another 10/15 seconds
  • Using a strainer, pour the contents into the glass previously smoked with rosemary
  • Finally garnish with rosemary and lemon peel (zest)

Preparations tips

  • Use good quality spirits to ensure a balanced and pleasant flavor
  • Perfect for those who like classics revisited with a daring and modern twist
  • Use a cocktail bell and a smoker with cherry, oak or apple wood chips for a more intense aroma
  • For a sweet and caramel touch, try lightly burning the brown sugar on the surface of the drink with a caramelizer
